I'm trying to merge from excel material resources to an existing project.
Initiall i have 44 material items as local resources.
When i go to merge another 8 material resources from a 2nd excel file (4 are
new/currently don't exist and 4 are updates to existing material resources),
the 4 updates are applied, however the 4 new material resources don't save to
the file even though i save/publish.
when i open up the project, the 4 merge/new material resources are not there.
Am i exceeding some threshold where i can't have more than 44 local resources?
Is there possibly something in the 2nd excel file where the material
resource line items are formatted in excel and they won't carry over and save
to project? Note that i tried to remove all formatting from excel yet the 4
new material resources won't save in project.
As there is no information out there that i've been able to find, any
guidance woud be helpful.

I'm adding materials to the resource sheet. Materials come from excel and i
have an existing map i'm using.
I first do an append to a project i've created; 44 local resources are
created. Material resources save and they are there when i open/close project.
2nd, i have a separate excel file to apply 4 updates to resources already on
the sheet and i have 4 resources which are new. I'm using the same map as
when i newly added the material resources.

tried an append from the 2nd file rather than a merge which added another 48
material resources. When i save/close/open project, the 48 newly added
