Merge to email problem

C

C Tate

I use outlook express as my email client though I do have outlook installed
on my computer too. OE is my default email client. However, when I try to do
a merge to email in Word (97) it keeps asking me to choose a profile in
Outlook.

No matter what I do I cannot seem to get Word to use OE to send these
emails.

How can I resolve this problem?

Open OE and from the File menu, export your addresses to some other format,
like CSV or text. Then use THAT as your data source, instead of trying to
use Outlook. Word is not designed to merge directly with any other email
program except Outlook.

Hope this helps!

Hi C,

Word will automatically send email to the application that's set as the
DEFAULT email client, at least, that's what I thought it should do. So do
check again in Internet Options, and if that doesn't help, try asking in an
OUTLOOK newsgroup.
