Message minimises on attachment opening

Running Outlook 2000 under Windows 2000 in a corporate
environment, when I open a message from my Inbox and then
open an attachment, the attachment's application opens
maximised (as I want) but the original message is
minimised to the Task Bar. This means when I close the
attachment I have to click on the Task Bar to go back to
the message. Other people in the same company running the
same software do not have this problem. For them, closing
the attachment reveals the message full screen allowing
them to use the Escape key to close the message.
