Message when opening published project

Hi,

One of the Project Managers is opening a published project she's been
working with a couple of weeks ago. Today she's receiving the following
message: "The currency for this project is different from the currency
specified in the enterprise global template". We have not performed any
changes to the Global template at all and last Friday the project opened
without prompting this message.

Can someone give me some hints on what's going on?

It sounds like your Project Server administrator made a change to the
security settings in PWA but didn't tell you so. The setting he/she changed
is to specify the default currency for your organization's projects, and can
be found by doing the following:

1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions
2. Click the Admin menu
3. Click the Server configuration link

The setting in question is the "Enforce single currency as specified in the
enterprise global template" option, which is probably now selected and was
probably unselected previously. Once this option was set, he/she should
have also done the following:

1. Open Microsoft Project Professional and log into Project Server with
administrator permissions
2. Click Tools - Enterprise Options - Open Enterprise Global
3. Click Tools - Options
4. Set the View page
5. Set the Symbol value to your organization's default currency, which is
probably the $ sign
6. Click OK
7. Save and close the Enterprise Global

If you do not wish to enforce a single currency standard on all your
projects, such as if you are managing projects outside of the US in addition
to US projects, then you should ask your Project Server administrator to
undo steps 1-3 in the first section. If you do wish to enforce a single
currency across all projects, but the Symbol field is currently blank, then
you should ask your Project Server administrator to perform steps 1-7 in the
second section. Hope this helps.

Dale,

Thanks for the prompt and accurate reply. I went to PWA, check for the
currency settings and it was already dollar sign. I went back to the project
manager and she let me know the problem is not occurring since this morning.
I think I have some gost living inside the server :)
