Message won't send after changing

I'm having a new problem with Outlook 2003. This has always worked in
the past, but for the last several weeks, if I open a message in my
Outbox to edit it before it gets sent, it gets stuck and nothing seems
to work to make it send.

Outlook is set up to send/receive every 5 minutes. Any messages that I
send without editing from the Outbox are being sent without problem

After editing a message in the outbox, i click Send, but it doesn't
send. My only option has been to create a new message, and then
copy/paste from the original message into the new one, send the new
one, and delete the original. That works, but it sucks!

I've been doing this for years, but it suddenly has stopped working
and I don't know why.

Any help appreciated.

thanks,

I have just hit the same problem you describe. Seems to
have co-incided with my upgrade to SP2 (suspicious!). My
temporary workaround is that if I have edited a file in
the outbox, I move it to the drafts directory, then send
it again from there. Works so long as you dont go back to
the outbox before it gets sent. Yes indeed this sucks.
Must be a fix out there somewhere. Ideas anyone?

Well, I haven't upgraded to SP2, so that's not the reason why on my
computer.

Thanks for the move-to-drafts tip. Interesting: if I move it to
drafts, edit it, then move it to the outbox, it doesn't send, but if I
edit it in the drafts folder and click send from there, it works.

seems like the outbox has "lost some magic." I'm tempted to create a
new profile and see what happens with that, but i'd rather not go thru
the exercise if i don't have to

The solution seems to be to unload the "send to one note"
comm add-in for Outlook 2003. This can be done
in "Tools" "Options" "Other" "Advanced Options" "COM Add-
ins" un-check the box for "send to OneNote from Outlook".

No idea why add-in this causes this problem. Shame
Microsoft didn't test this add-in properly before putting
it in general release on their OneNote website.

Have emailed this to Microsoft

Sigh. I don't have that add-in.

I've got the Outlook backup (had it forever), Cloudmark's spamnet
add-in (which i'll try removing in a while), and the Lookout add-in
(ditto). But I've had Cloudmark and Lookout for quite a while; maybe
one of their updates did me in.

thanks

It turns out that tjhe SpamNet (from CloudMark) Comm Add-in is causing
this problem for me. I'm still using it though, 'cause I really like
how it works.

To get a message unstuck, you move it into Drafts, then open and send
it from there.

CloudMark tech support is working on the problem.
