Messages Disappeared

When i upgraded from Office 2000 to Office 2003, my old e-mail messages were
lost. How do I recover them?

Did you back up your PST folders prior to upgrading? If so, then try
importing into OL 2003.

No. Did not back up anything. Just followed the instructions for installing
the upgrade which never mentioned it. Is is lost if it was not backed up?

No, not necessarily lost, but I will leave it to someone wiser on this NG
than I to advise you how to find the data. Good luck.

ARr you using the same .pst file? How is your profile configured?

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, Troy asked:

The profile should be the same however was reconfigured when installing
Office 2003. In looking at Outlook, it appears the .pst files for 2000 and
before differ from those for the 2003 edition. I have tried using the import
function, but thus far have been unable to locate any other .pst files.
