messages returned when attempting to publish

I just added some text to page properties dialog (keywords and page
description), but on attempting to publish the updated version I get a
number of status messages that seem inconsistent:
- many buttons are "unmatched"
- some pages are shown as "unchanged" in the left pane and "changed" in the
right pane"
- two pages are shown as having a "conflict", but I don't have a clue as to
what that conflict my be.

Can someone tell me how to go about resolving these issues?

Thanks,
E-Jo

This usually results from a time mismatch between your
local site and the Web server, or from someone else
updating the remote site.

In most cases, you can fix this just by letting FrontPage
do its thing, overwriting any files on the destination
that FrontPage finds to be in conflict. Of course, if you
believe a co-worker could have made changes after you
obtained your copy of the site, then you should
investigate the differences more closely. The following
article provides some additional information.

If you're publishing through FrontPage using FTP, such
messages can also be the result of time zone differences
between your local copy and the remote copy. This doesn't
affect all FTP servers, but it does affect some.

Well, you were right Jim. I just bit the bullet and let FP do its thing and
everything appears to be OK!

I'm sure no one else modified the site, and I'm not sure what you meant by
time difference. The site files have the original dates and some of the
local files are newer. But that is to be expected, so I don't know what
caused all those errors. It looks like a problem with FP to me.

But again thanks for your good advice!

By "time difference", I mean that the time on your PC and the time on
the Web server are significantly different.

If, for example, the time on your PC is 9:25 AM and the time on the
server is 9:35 AM, then any file saved on the server will appear to be
ten minutes more recent than the same file on your PC. This can upset
determinations of which version of a file is newer, or whether a
version on the server has changed.

FrontPage adjusts for time zone differences, but it can't adjust for
differences in the time of day.
