Hi Gus. I did not see your original query so please forgive if this is way off
beam. I had a similar problem and in researching I found this link

which suggest that the problem may have something to do with Add-ins. I found I
had a Norton add-in and when I disabled it, everything works fine. Hope this is
of some help. If not, sorry for wasting your time!!!

Hardly. You were the one to claim it is endemic. Scientific and
mathematical procedure requires that one find only a single exception to
prove a conjecture wrong. I've done that in your case.

I've discovered that when I have a new message window and I use the To, CC,
or BCC buttons, the pop-up lists people in my address book but it may not
enter the persons email address (despite it being in the proper place in the
contact record). In other words, unless the email address is displayed in
the E-mail column, Outlook will put the persons name there. Why Outlook only
does this for certain contacts is a mystery. From reading this forum, it
looks like it has been a problem for quite a while. I'm using Outlook 2007.
You'd think they might be able to fix this but they are too busy window
dressing the interface.
