Messaging interface returns unknown error creating Outlook Contact

I have some VB code that runs in Access 2007 that takes people records from a
database table and creates Contacts in our Outlook Public Contacts Folder.
Occasionally we get an error message that says: "The messaging interface has
returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook."

Is there anyway to avoid this?
