I have FP 2002 and thought I had put in meta tags only to be told that no
meta keywords tag found following a seo review. How do I put in meta tags?
I am confused.

There's a good description of how to insert them at:
http://www.precisionweb.net/front-page-meta-tags.htm

One thing to keep in mind though, keyword meta tags are now largely ignored.
The only search engine I've heard of that does pay attention, though very
mild attention, to them is Yahoo. The search engine companies have vastly
improved algorithms that are used for indexing content and now look for many
things to ensure that a page is valid and not a bunk advertisement. Google
ignores the keyword meta tag completely as it focuses more on who links to
you and the quality of those sites that are linking to you. Don't expect
fantastic results from keyword meta tags, if at all. If you do see results,
don't expect to see them soon, I've heard stories where even with an SEO
company working for them constantly it can take 6 months for a site to show
up in relevant searches.

Thanks - my site was rejected by Yahoo and I was informed that this could be
because I don't have meta tags listed!

Hi Mark

I have looked at the website you gave and noted that I had already put in
what I thought were key words etc but this has come up as "http equiv" which
I don't understand. I have noted in the html coding that there is
"generator" after meta name and in content "Microsoft FrontPage 5.0" Also
Meta name : Prog Id and in Content "FrontPage.editor.doc" If I remove this
the shortcut icon changes so I am not sure if I ought to do this or not or
whether I should just add my keywords. Is this where I should be putting the
keywords? When I put keywords in the User-defined and System Meta variables
I was informed that my website did not have any meta names!! I apologise for
sounding a bit thick but this is my first website!

Thanks for help.
