metric ruler in Powerpoint 2003

Hi 2 of the Dell D600 laptops we use have the powerpoint rulers set to
inches. all the other machines have cm.

word was the same and under options the ruler settings can be changed from
imperial to metric. I cannot find anywhere to change these settings in
Powerpoint.

I am suspicious because on delivery these 2 laptops were set up with a US
region. where the others had UK.

Does Powerpoint pre-install its regional settings from the defaults on
loading?

does this mean an office re-install is needed

It's a Windows setting : Start - Control Panel - Doubleclick Regional
(language) Options - Customize- tab Numbers - Measurement System - Choose
"US" or "Metric" - OK out. Now restart PPT.
