Miccrosoft Office Document Scanning

I

insomuchtrouble

I have a scanner set up on a network (192.168.7.201) that 5 out of 8
employees can scan to without issue. Just recently the other 3 are no longer
able to scan documents to the scanner. Scanner is a Cannon IR3570 with
print/copy capabilities. The 3 can print to it, they just can't use Microsoft
Office Document Scanning. Scangear detects the scanner, and adds it, but the
scanner is not 'seen' by the Microsoft Office Document Scanning program (part
of office 2003). We've uninstalled/reinstalled ScanGear and MS Office with no
joy in addition to installing/removing drivers we dl'd from Canon's website.
We even tried copying over the 11.0 folder (C:\Program Files\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\MODI) on a working computer that can scan, and copied
it to a nonfunctional one with no success. We're running a variation of SP3
and SP2 on the working and non-working pc's so it's not an SP issue. We tried
fully updating one non-functioning pc with every possible update from MS with
no luck. The pc's that can scan successfully vary with service packs ranging
from 2 to 3.

heeeeeelp

I have the same problem. Scangear detects the scanner just fine (IR 5020)
but Microsoft Office refuses to find it to actually scan from.

Who are you talking to and about what?

Please note:
This is NOT a chat room and although you think you are posting to a forum
run by Techarena - you are actually posting to a global Usenet Newsgroup.
Techarena forums leach off the Microsoft News Servers in order to make them
seem far busier than they really are. Those of us (the vast majority) who
use the MS News server rather than Techarena forums have NO IDEA what you
are talking about.

You will get a far better experience if you use a newsreader and subscribe
to these groups directly, rather than through TechArena.

If you must stay with TechArena then please follow Usenet custom by quoting
the post you are replying to, and replying to the thread.

Thank you.

Hi to all,

Learn something more about document scanning . You will definitely get
good knowledge and you can rectify the doubts by yourself.

Possibly the permissions were changed somehow. Setting up network
scanners can be a problem from time to time. We have a scanning FAQ on
our site which covers a few areas maybe something related to that.
