Microsft outlook credentials window hidden

Outlook 2003, Exchange 2003
When trying to setup a new profile through the mail tab in control panel:
Choose Exchange, then Server name and username and press check name. An
Outlook credentials tab appears in the bottom toolbar but is hidden and not
accesible. Have detected and repaired, uninstalled, reinstalled without
success. Have also logged on as another user, same machine, and tried to
setup an exchange account, with the same result. This is machine specific.
Anybody out there have any suggestions as to how to solve this issue.
