MICROSOFT ACCESS 2000 AND THE POUND (£) SIGN

I use microsoft access 2000 to record my customer accounts etc. However I
cannot change the $ sign to that of £. Being in the UK this is important for
me. I know I can leave it without a sign, however I would prefer to see the
£.

I believe Access gets the currency symbol from the Regional Settings. Have
you set it there?
