"Microsoft Access"

Many of us here help people use Access every day. One thing we do is to
inform posters when Access is not suitable for the task they want to
accomplish, which it is my sad duty to inform you...
I request help to make NEW database like http://www.amazon.com

http://www.amazon.com is not a database; it is a website into which multiple
hundreds of thousands of dollars, perhaps multiple millions, of dollars were
invested to develop. You can not reproduce http://www.amazon.com with
Microsoft Access. If you have a small enough inventory and customer set, you
might use Access to create the database that you would use with whatever
website development software you use.

You will find good suggestions for effective use of newsgroups at
http://www.mvps.org/access/netiquette.htm. Among other things it will tell
you that you are likely to get answers to specific questions; unlikely to
get much response to a general request such as this.

Thanks you,

Are you looking to hire someone to create a SQL/Server based,
worldwide, tens of thousands of concurrent users, multimillion record
database? At a guess, that's the order of size of Amazon. How many
millions of dollars do you have budgeted?

Or... do you want something else, maybe a bit smaller? If so, what?

And do you want this donated to you free of charge, or are you asking
for someone to hire as a paid consultant?

I believe you posted this request last month. It was unreasonable
then; it's unreasonable now.

If you're going to use Microsoft technologies, start here ...
http://www.asp.net

There are non-Microsoft solutions as well, of course, but I am not familiar
with those.

Unreasonable!

Well, Mr. Vinson MVP, I appreciate your feedback. But I believe I wish a
nother opion.

Okay, here's another opinion.

It sounds as though you have no experience designing databases, and you're
trying to start with an extremely ambitious undertaking. By itself, Access
cannot build a database such as what you want: you'll need to use other
technologies (such as ASP or ASP.Net) to provide the interface layer between
the internet and the database.

Your request is too vague. Unless you answer some of the questions John
asked, it's not possible to provide you with specific help.
