Microsoft Autoupdate 2.1.1 probems

T

Tracey

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

Autoupdate says 2.1.1 update is critical, however it wont allow me to install the update. After choosing to download, entering my password, & quitting other programs is checks for udates again. The process repeats until Autoupdate shuts down. I have looked in 'view updates' and nothing is recorded.
I tried the following:
Ran apple combo updater, restarted, repaired permissions.
Then.. quit all microsoft applications, dragged microsoft office 2008 to trash, emptied trash, reinstalled office 2008 from original installation disc, restarted, updated, restarted, repaired permissions.

After doing all this, nothing has been resolved and Autoupdate will still not run.
Can anyone help me? I am not very confident with this sort of thing.

Tracey.

I'm going back over your original message......

AutoUpdate no longer shows "view updates." It was there in the early version
of AutoUpdate but was removed.

The Office 2008 MAU is now hidden away. Find this file and tell me what
version it is. Fully updated it should be 2.2.0.

/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0

Just dragging to the trash did not get the hosed Microsoft AutoUpdate. I can
try to phone conference you through the install if you send me your phone
number. We'll go though all of the files and removing Office to get you in a
place where you get a good install.

Send me an email off list with your phone number:
