Microsoft Database Daemon.app & System Events

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

I'm attempting to make my boot sequence more efficient. The above 2 files appear in my Login Items menu in System Preferences Accounts.

Are they essential? I don't want to delete them and find my Office 2008 functionality is changed.

I don't have system events in my configuration though. The database is used
for reminder in the calender.

I don't have System Event either. Microsoft Entourage uses the Microsoft
Database daemon and the Microsoft AU daemon. The AU daemon is the
AutoUpdater.

Yes, if you use Notifications/Reminders.
