Microsoft debug error-Visual C++ Runtime Library-can't open Outloo

My system wasn't shut down correctly and when it was rebooted, it did a disk
check and fixed things. After that, Outlook won't open. I get the following
message:
Microsoft Debug Error. Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. Program:
C:\Progra(funny sideway s)1\Micro(sideway s)1\Office10\Outlook.exe. Abnormal
Program Termination. When I try to repair it, it fails and closes. Any help
would be greatly appreciated. I am running Windows XPPro2002ServicePack2. I
have searched for all pst files and can't open any of them including the
backup one on my D drive.
