Visual C++ Debug Library error

When I click an HTML link in and email message from within Outlook 2003, it
opens the web page in Internet Explorer, no problem. When I close IE, I get
"Debug Error!
Program C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE
abnormal program termination"

If I close the email in question 1st, then close IE, I do not get an error.
I have reinstalled IE, installed all recommended updates, detect and repair
in Outlook. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
