microsoft document image writer has disappeared

bepe

I somehow lost the printer called "microsoft document image writer" that
comes standard with Office XP (and maybe other office versions as well). I
already tried uninstalling Office and re-install it but without success. Can
anybody tell me how I can get the "image writer" printer back again? Thanks
in advance, Zef.

MS Office Document Image Writer was a new feature added in MS Office 2003. MS Office XP (2002) has MS Office Document Imaging but
not the 'writer' virtual printer driver.

For Office 2003 use Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel and check to see if it's listed as 'run from my computer'. If
so, and it's gone missing, set the feature to 'not available' then complete the setup change, restart the computer and then try to
set the feature to 'run from my computer'
