We are interested in using the Microsoft Document Imaging Format (MDI)
features of Office 2003, but is there a viewer for non-office users to
download and use to open the .MDI files?

Hi Keme,

Unfortunately no. In this case it's a programmer's
viewing tool, where 'MDI' refers to multiple document
interface, rather than .MDI Microsoft Document Image.

There isn't a MS viewer for .MDI files.

I believe this must be what is requested.

Download stg.exe from Microsoft. >>

Have you tried that file? The description doesn't seem to describe an
Image viewer, and the file location is in a Windows 98 subdirectory. MDI
in this instance is Multiple Document Interface, NOT Microsoft Document
Imaging.

My apologies! I was aware of the "MDI interface" so I was quite
particular about searching for .MDI (leading full stop). I probably
didn't enclose in quotation marks though, so it was truncated. Neither
did I read or test thoroughly.

Guess I'll do my homework properly next time. Sorry!
