Microsoft Document Imaging (mdi) in Office 2007

I recently upgraded to Office 2007. Now I need to open a document that I
saved with Office 2003's mdi feature. But apparently Office 2007 does not
recognize this file format. How/where do I download an application that can
read a document in mdi format?

The Document Imaging program is not installed by default. In the Control Panel,
Add & Remove programs, scroll down to your Office installation, click change,
find Document Imaging, run all from my computer.

Mary - does this work for the trial version of MS Office 7.0? I followed the
procedure, but I don't see Document Imaging in my Office Programs Menu.

I recently got the trial version of MS office 2007. I could not open my .mdi
files with the app. I had some trouble with the launch of Vista Ultimate and
had to return my new computer to the dealer to reinstall Vista which erased
my trial version of Office. I down loaded the trial version again and during
the down load, I found the application for MS Document Imaging and installed
it with the other programs. You have to custom intall and select printers to
find MDI.

Good luck.

I recently got a new computer with Vista and installed the Office 200
Home & Student trial version. I then installed my old copy of Offic
2003 Professional Edition.

I could not get Microsoft Office Document Imaging installed when tryin
to Add/Change Features to Office 2003. However, I was able to Chang
features to the trial installation of MS Office 2007. I was successfu
at installing MS Office Document Imaging, and I can now open MDI files.
However, the printer driver did not install. I don't know how importan
that is anyway considering the new XPS printer driver in Vista. XP
file format seems like an acceptable replacement for me

To find the Document imaging box, you might first have to click the + sign
next to Office tools, then you should see this box. Then select "run all from
my computer".

I would also like to access MDI, but seem to have lost the option to
change/delete in the add/remove in programs, any suggestions in how to
recover that so I can try this?
