When I open An excel file, by double clicking on it, the workbook does not
open unless i click on open in the file menu and browse for the file to open
it. What can i do to solve this problem?
Please note that i was able to open any excel file by double clicking on it,
but i don't know what happened and i can't anymore

Is your file associated with Excel? To find out, and change if need be,
right click the file and select "Properties". See where it says, "Opens
with:" if it doesn't say Excel, click change and then browse to the Excel
program in Program Files, click on the application, OK, Apply, OK and you
should be up and running.
