Andrew Merrell

I am using Groove Virtual Office 3.1, I am a member of a workspace which contains a file which is denoted as updated (it has a * next to it) but when I click it I get a popup box saying Waiting to Download and it never downloads, is this becuase the person who uploaded the file did not stay on long enough for me to recieve it?

Thanks for any help!

Hi Andrew,

The download properties of this Files tool is probably set to manual
download. This means that when a change is made to the document, a
notification of the change is sent, but not that actual changes. So yes, the
other user needs to be online at the same time as you in order to get the
changes. Changing the Files Tool download properties to automatic download
will remove the need for fetching the file from the other user.

To check the download properties of your Files tool, go into the space and
files tool, right click on the folder that the file resides in, select
Properties > Download.
