Microsoft Jet Database Stops on Startup

Phil

I don't know what my users did to make this happen, but
when anyone tries to open one of our databases, the
following message box appears: "The Microsoft Jet
database engine stopped the process because you and
another user attempting to change the same data at the
same time.

This is what I've tried to do to resolve the problem.
Copy the database file. Perform a compact and repair
(same error pops up). Create a new db and import the
tables, forms, etc. (same error pops up). Hold shift
when starting the application (no effect). Any thoughts?

I am experiencing the same problem. I can open my tables
after I click OK twice. I click once, then it comes up
again, and I click OK again. I think it happened as a
result of changing my mind on filling in a form this
morning. I already have locks removed . I can't seem to
find a way to get rid of the message.

You could try the Jetcomp utility. See the Corruptions FAQ page at my
website for links and some more things to try.
