I am trying to install the updates for office 2000
particularly office 2000 service release 1a and it is
prompting for the original hardware that I do not have
anymore. How can I install without the disks?

Hi Barber,

The MS Installer expects to always have access to
the original installation source.

If it's a boxed retail copy of MS Office 2000 you
can contact MS (800-360-7561) for a replacement CD.
