I just upgraded to Microsoft Office 2003 Professional and I am using the
Document Scanning tool along with an EPSON TWAIN 3(32-bit) scanner to scan
documents.
I was previously using Microsoft Office XP Professional and scanning was
easily done by simply clicking the 'Scan' button. However in Office 2003 when
I click the 'Scan' button it opens the EPSON TWAIN 3 scanner driver software
and I must proceed with a series of additional steps to complete the scan. I
discovered an option within the 'Choose Scanner' dialog that allows one to
choose whether or not to 'Show the scanner driver dialog before scanning' but
it is grayed out and I am unable to uncheck this option. It indicates that
'This scanner will always display the scanner driver dialog'. Is there a way
to make it so that it is not grayed out so I can uncheck this option and
prevent the scanner driver software from opening?
