microsoft office 2003 programs not responding how do i fix it ?

My Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet Explorer are not responding. I can open
a word or Excel file but, can not save them. In addition, i cannot access
the iternet vis Internter Explorer. This same problem is occuring on both my
lap top and my tower computers. I have no idea what provoked this issue
...Please help- I have no idea what to do..

this problem was caused by Win Sec Update
KB908531. I removed and the problem went away.
Go to Add/Remove Programs, check the box (at the top) for Show Updates, then
go to the Win Updates and remove KB908531.
Hope this helps.

Removing the update is not the permanent solution as Automatic Updates
will download and install it again. Have you tried the Registry hack?
This is how you do:

Option 1 - Modify the registry
------------------------------

- (If you have multiple user accounts set up) Log onto the computer
using an
account with Administrator privileges

- Click the Start button, then click Run and type "regedit" at the
prompt,
without the quotes; this will start Registry Editor

- Locate the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell
Extensions\Cached key in Registry Editor

- Right click on the key and select New / DWORD Value

- Rename the resulting value "{A4DF5659-0801-4A60-9607-1C48695EFDA9}
{000214E6-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} 0x401", without the quotes

- Right click the value, select Modify, and type "1" into the Value Data
field

- Close Registry Editor
