Microsoft Office 2007 issues

I downloaded my copy of the MSDN version of Microsoft office 2007. Couple of
things. I love the new look and feel.

Microsoft Access is extremely buggy- when I want to open a query in design
view or open a table, or really even click out of any highlighted area, there
is a 2-5 second delay. I love the new search functionality, but I cannot
even use this software because of how slow it is. I'm using some linked
tables from another server, but this shouldnt impact things like queries, and
just overall slowness.

Outlook is really nice, but again I can't even get my inbox mail to show up.
I can connect to the exchange server, but can't get mail from it.
Everything was fine with Office 2003, same email server, same settings. My
PC is a 3 gighz pentium 4 with 1.5 gig of ram, and 100+ gig space free on my
HDD. I even have a video card in the thing, but if this machine can't run
office well, wow...heads up.

I'm having to uninstall Office 2007 and reinstall office 2003 just so I can
do work.

Thanks,
Jesse

I suggest you take the Access issue to an Access newsgroup. I have
hardly ever seen any Access people in this group, so it's unlikely
anyone can give you any advice on this one.

How does that manifest itself? Do you get an error message?
What Exchange server version is it?

I appreciate that advice, but I don't really want to take this to the access
group. This is the Office community and I wanted to make a comment on Office
2007, and the software contained. I hope I classified my thread clear enough.

When I double click on the Outlook icon, it manifests itself. No error
messages, just no email in my inbox. It was working fine with the same
exchange settings in Outlook 2003 this morning. It shouldnt matter what
exchange server version I'm using (I'm assuming either XP or 2003) I'm simply
using the functionality to grab my email. I've tried cached exchange mode,
and the alternative.

Just a bit frustrating that I have to uninstall. Thanks for hearing me out.

Sure. It's just that the Access community could probably help you figure
out a workaround or solution, or even take it to Microsoft. It's
unlikely that it will be taken by anyone here to MS (and MS doesn't read
these groups).

Actually it matters. Outlook 2007 does not support Exchange 5.5 anymore
at all (Outlook 2003 still does). Outlook 2007 only works with Exchange
2000, 2003 and 2007. If your organization still uses 5.5, then that
explains why you were out of luck.
