Microsoft Office 2007 Training Presentations

I've accessed several of the Office 2007 training presentations under Office
Online>Templates>Presentations>2007 Microsoft Office System training
presentations. They download into Powerpoint 2007 and everything runs fine,
but when I do a Save As, Other Formats, Powerpoint Macro-Enabled Presentation
(*.pptm), then close Powerpoint and open it back up then open the saved
presentation, all of the Flash macros just have a big X on the screen and no
longer have "Play" as an option. For example, "Training Presentations: Word
2007 - Get Up to Speed" will no longer play the the Flash macros on the "The
Ribbon in Action" slide or the "The Quick Access Toolbars" slide. It's as if
the Flash macros are not being saved when the slides are saved. I have tried
saving to a Trusted Location and Enabling All Macros, but it doesn't change
the results. Is there a way to save the presentations with the Flash macros
included?

Thank you for such a good problem description and clear information and
examples of a template that's not working and what it is actually doing.

I don't know why it's not working if you save as PPTM (I'll try to test that
here later when I have a minute), but for now, try saving as a PPT 97-2003
format file. That works here. The downloaded file is actually a POT format
(which, as you probably know, is a 97-2003 format also), which may be why
saving it as a PPT file works.

You're right! It works just fine if I save it in the PPT 97-2003 format. I
never thought about trying that. It's kind of ironic that an Office 2007 Get
Up to Speed presentation has to be saved in PPT 97-2003 format to get the
full functionality.

For what it's worth, the Flash stuff doesn't play here, either, if I save as
PPTM. In fact, when I open the file (whether it's PPT or PPTM), I'm prompted
to enable the ActiveX content, because of the security settings I've
selected. But even if I specifically enable it, the Flash doesn't run. On
slide 7, "the ribbon in action," I don't even get an image of the Flash --
just the empty ActiveX control.

This has to be an issue with the PPTM stuff, but I've no clue what the
problem really is. I'll see if I can find out -- but I think we have our
reason as to why the Office 2007 Get Up to Speed presentation has to be
saved in PPT 97-2003 format! (So much for security, huh? lol)
