Microsoft Office Access Record-Locking Information

Deb

A file created in 2000 seems to have been saved in this format with the ldb
file extension. Is there any way I can open it and how have they done this!!
Thanks

Deb,

An .ldb file is not another format of a database, it is the database's
lock file; it is created by Access when the first user opens a database
by the same name, and deleted when the last user exits. It is used by
Access internally, and not intended for use by the user. In any case, it
does not contain the database! So, it seems someone accidentally gave
you the wrong file.

HTH,
Nikos
