microsoft office outlook standard 2003

i am new at loading software and i think i may have entered something wrong
upon downloading this cd. i cant seem to get back to that to put whatever the
correct info should be. i have the outlook icon on my desktop but the system
keeps saying "connection to micro exchange server unavailable. i now know
that i do not have an exchange server. i need help on what to do from here so
i can set this up correctly and use my e-mail. any help would be greatly
appreciated. please remember i am new at this so please explain in terms i
will understand.

start / settings / control panel / mail / show profiles / remove what's there
/ start outlook again, when you set up a mail account, pick what you have,
not exchange server.

Click Start>Programs>Control Panel>User Accounts>Mail<E-mail Accounts>View
or change existing e-mail accounts>Next. Select the Exchange server and
choose Remove. Add the type of account you want.
