Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 (Download) is available at an
academic discount (my wife is a teacher). What I can't figure out though is
how many PCs are covered by the license. The product description doesn't
say and I haven't heard back from the vendor yet. Does anyone know if the
license supports three installs like Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010?

Normal terms apply namely:

a. Licensed Device. You may install and use one copy of the
software on the licensed device.
b. Portable Device. You may install another copy on a portable
device for use by the single primary user of the licensed device.

Home & Student is quite different and so the terms are also
different.

There are actually two different types of academic licenses available.

One is through the home use program for the institution and, while I am not
absolutely sure it was true for earlier versions of Office, it is limited to
one install at a time but can be transferred between computers.

The second is licensed as a retail product and, if it is that, then it is
one primary device and one secondary device for the exclusive use of the
primary user of the primary device.
