Hi, I have a problem with my Word 2007 (Office SP1) on Vista. Whenever I
tried to close the document, it crashes and shows the error message. Besides,
if I tried to click any applications such as Pictures, Page Layout or any
options, the Word will crash. Here is my crash report that I got from Problem
Reports and Solutions and Event Viewer.

This is really frustrating for me as most of my documents crashed and unable
to save it. Btw, I have installed an additional program named MathType 6. Is
the reason for the crash due to the program or the SP1?

Hope someone can help me ASAP.

Thx in advance..

99.99'% of the time this is due to an incompatible third party addin. Test
for this by starting in Safe Mode. From Start, Run (Winkey+R) type in

winword /a

and press enter. This starts Word in Safe mode which is its virgin install
mode bypassing all addins, customisations, etc. Just close it now. If it is
OK, it pretty much proves that Word is fine but there's a nasty addin
causing the problem.

Firstly, thx for your swift reply. I have tried loading Word 2007 in safe
mode and it did solve the problem. I have also read through the link you gave
however I did not find and .dot file in the startup folder. I have randomly
checked through and found active application add-ins - AddinTools Classic
Menu Check Tool and Addin Tools Classic Menu AND the add-in for MathType6
with file extension .wll, .dot and .dotm is still in the list although I have
deleted it. Is there any methods to find the files?

Furthermore,I have deleted the third party add-on program which is the
MathType 6 located in the startup folder. However, whenever I tried to start
Word in normal mode, all of the options are now available but still whenever
I try to close the Word, it crashes yet again.

Hope I can receive your reply soon.

Hi once again, I have tried to delete the Normal.dotm on
"C:\Users\Henry\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates. However, the template
keeps on regenerate itself. Under the template, there are the 3 add-ins which
I tried to remove but still appears. Is this the cause of the problem?

Hi Beth, I have looked in the Add-ins options and I have found the deleted
add-ins still on the list and the location of the file is non-existable since
I have already uninstalled the program.

Hi,

Do you have a HP photosmart printer? If yes, that's the problem when you try
to close word files. Just uncheck that printer as the default one and your
problem will be resolve. But, after that, you have to select always the HP
printer manually when you want to print.

Hope that help you.
GF.
