Hi Kelvin,
I may have this 'mystery' figured out. I use the address book in outlook,
and the same problem was happening to me (I would construct a beautiful
message in HTML format, 'cc:' myself, and send it off).
The 'copy' in my SENT box was just as I had intended it, BUT - the 'cc'd'
version that landed back into my inbox (after circling my ISP) would return
in Plain Text!
Today, I decided to fix it - and checked MY OWN ADDRESS in my Outlook
Address Book. Open your address book. Select your name, then right Click -
select properties. This should display your entire entry in your Outlook
address book.
Once again, go to the line where your e-mail address is displayed and
underlined - and right-click to see the e-mail properties attached to this
e-mail address. There are only three options listed on the bottom of the
dialog box:
Send Using Plain Text
Send using Outlook Rich text format
Let Outlook decide
My 'setting' was set at Plain Text! (How can that be when every place
possible in the Outlook settings was set to HTML?)
I changed it to 'Let Outlook Decide' (which I can only guess determines that
Outlook actually checks all of the USE HTML options I have checked in ALL of
the places it allows me to) and viola!
No more messages that I send (or receive as originating from me, then
replied to me , etc.) are returning to me in 'Plain Text'!
No, Kelvin - you're not crazy. Your boss is not involved in VooDoo. But,
you may want to ask everyone involved to check their own address properties
in their Outlook Address Book.
Best of Luck

After furious head scratching, kelvin asked:
| First of all, many thanks for your kind and prompt reply.
|
| Our mail server is just an ISP with POP3 mail.
|
| Yes. He has checked to read all mail in HTML format.
|
| This is very strange. It looks fine in SENT folder. But when it
| reaches to my president's INBOX, it becomes PLAIN TEXT.
|
| At first, the mail looks fine (HTML). After few times reply between my
| director and president, the format suddenly changed itself when the
| mail goes into my President's INBOX. But when I look into the SENT
| folder in my director laptop, it is HTML format.
|
| All along we are using HTML format. Even all email sent from our
| staff to my president are all in HTML format. Only certain mails sent
| from my Director are automatically changed to PLAIN TEXT.
|
| Pls help~ Thanks.
