Microsoft Outlook messages

I had copied a lot of email messages to a usb drive from work.

Now when I want to review them I can't, even though right clicking indicates
that it is a Outlook Item. All that is displayed is a bunch of small boxes
with some recognizable words.

How do I view these emails - if I take the drive back to work they are
readable unfortunately this option is no longer possible. I need to be able
to view them from home.

Thanks for any assistance

Do you have the same version of Outlook at home as you do at work?
What type of mail server do you use at work?

Apparently I have a different version.

You know that you do, or you're just assuming you do? I mean, if it is the
same version, there might be other issues, like encoding issues, or something
else.

Going back to the mail server question, if yo'ure running an Exchange server
at work, OWA would give you access to your mail. Talk to your IT department.

I believe that it might be related to a different version and since I don't
have access to that employer anymore I'm trying to find out how I can read
the emails I transferred to the drive??

thanks

I'm not sure if it is the same version since I'm no longer with the
employer. However my son's computer has the same version of Microsoft
Outlook and is able to view the emails --- so now I'm stumped. Any
assistance would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Well, start with this: What version of Outlook is on the machine you're
using right now? What does it say if you go to Help-About?
