Microsoft Project 2007 Milestones have durations?

Hi,
I have recently upgraded from project 2003 - 2007, and am noticing some
issues.
I work backwards from the end of project to the beginning, and I am
noticing some of my milestones (where I have 0 duration, 0 lag, set to
happen 'as soon as possible) will give me a start and finsh date that
can be up to a year apart. Also wher ethe Gannt chart normally shows the
end date where the bars and diamonds are, for these issues, it shows the
start date.

If any one can give me any advice, I'd greatly appreciate it!

If you look at the Task Information -> Advanced tab of the milestone tasks,
is the "Mark task as milestone" box checked?
