microsoft project has encountered a problem

I've had Microsoft Project 2002 crash on me twice in the middle of working on
a project file. Each time, MS Project is unable to restart and I'm required
to uninstall and reinstall the entire program.

It's also happened to a colleague running Microsoft Project 2003.

Hi Jason,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup

I don't know the answer, but you could try disabling any antivirus programs
whilst you install Project.

Actually, weirdest thing. I shut my laptop down for the day and figured I'd
mess with it when I got back to work the next day. Next day, I booted up,
launched MS Project and it's working without a hitch.

On strange thing that also happened, the project file I was working on was
about 2.1 MB before I started (before the crash). I added a few minimal line
items only... but the saved file was then over 3 MB.

I had been copying and pasting task lines... and I read another comment in
this forum about that being a no-no. Perhaps that was my error... I may
never know.
