I am pleased to share this with everyone. Our timesheet web update
process has not been working due to this problem (assignments are
tagged with red flags). This involves a very simple setting change in
the client software. We had to call on MS Tech Support on a "per
incident" basis ($250 -- well spent). They quickly knew the answer,
but it is strange to me that they said this information was within an
internal document and not offered in any public documentation.
You should only have to do this one time:
1. Launch Microsoft Project (on your desktop)
2. Click on ‘Work Offline' to bypass logging on to the database and
run MS Project
3. Under the drop down (top) menu ‘Collaborate', select
‘Collaboration Options'
4. Select the ‘Collaborate' Tab, and CHECK ‘Each time I publish to
Microsoft Project Server, show dialog box confirming success'
5. Select the ‘Schedule' Tab, and UNCHECK ‘Show scheduling messages'
Once you do this, just for good measure, I would quit Microsoft
Project, then launch again and check to make sure your changes were
saved. Once these settings are made, it should work fine.
Thanks,
Andy Novak
