microsoft publisher 2002

When I get into the publisher, certain icons come up,
like the word art icon, the clip art icon, and the
printer icon. The Bol icon, the italic icon, or the
underline icon does not work because you cannot click on
it. Then when I go up to tools at the top of the page
and then go to customize, all of the icons come up. It
sounds like I have to do something there in order for all
of the icons to come up. If you could help me with this,
this would be great. Thanks!
