Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Error (Kills Outlook)

C

Chuck

Hope someone can help with this one.

Whenever I start Outlook 2002, I receive the following
error dialog:

*********************************************************
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Error (Dialog Title)

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\<location>\OUTLOOK.EXE

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it
in an unusual way. Please contact the application's
support team for more information.
*********************************************************

If I click "OK" or close the dialog, the app terminates.

I'm running Windows XP Pro, and the problem began after I
downloaded & installed a number of 'critical' updates.

1) I've uninstalled/reinstalled Office, with no change.

2) Starting Outlook in Safe Mode makes no difference.

3) I downloaded and installed all the Outlook updates, but
no change.

4) I've tried System Restore, but it won't successfully
revert to ANY of the points available.

Any ideas??

Thanks
