Microsoft was unable to establish a connection with the Project server

I am running windows 2003 and Project server 2003.
I have a client who is attempting to connect using Project
Pro 2002.

i have instructed him to rename his global.mpt file and
still gets the same error.

what should I do next?
..

Ha Jeff,

Under "Admin", "Server Configuration", "Select the features that you want to
make available to users in Project Web Access"
Check if "Connect to Project Server using Microsoft Project 2002" isn't
denied. This is by default.

Be aware that if there are PP2002 clients connecting, you can't use closed
periods!

This setting is also in all the categories. Check if the PM don't have a
disabled...
