Microsoft Word 2000

I have installed Word 2000 as a component of Office 2000
Premium Ed. I have the XP oper. System. When I open Word &
click on "Tools" or "File" on the Toolbar, a popup appears
stating that word has encountered a problem & needs to
close. It also asks if I wish to send an error report.
Whether I send or do not send a report,Word closes and I'm
back to my Desktop. I've tried the "Fix & Repair" option
to no avail. Does anyone have a suggestion regarding this
problem?

The problem usually is corrupted registry entries or normal.dot. Take a look
