Cannot re-install, am getting something about patch
missing.. Read something about a Windows Installer Patch
file . MSP files. Is this something I need to install,
if so where do I get it? thank you

I have a similar problem with Outlook 2002
I have a Windows 98 SE operating system. I had installed an Office 2002 Professional package. As part of an upgrade 2003 for my Compaq Ipaq 3870 Pocket PC, I installed, uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook 2002. When I connect to the Update for my Outlook 2002, it does not proceed and I get a message that I have missing MSP Windows Installer. When I uninstall my Outlook 2002 using Control Panel add/remove programs, I get the message that the Windows Installer patch cannot be opened. WhenI try to install Outlook 2002, I get the same message that the Windows Installer patch cannot be opened

I need help to correct the problem

Hi Vic,

This can be caused by several things but to correct it you will need
to zap the Windows Installer entry in the Registry and reinstall
Office.

Obtain the following utility and use it to remove only the reference
to Office. Once that is complete then you'll need to reinstall Office
to point the Windows Installer to your installation CD:
