Microsoft Word 2003 disappears, total crash without reporting it to Microsoft.

I have this problem at work, at home, and my friend has it in his home machine and laptop.



On Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Word 2003 (Office 2003 Enterprise), VS.NET 2003 installed, + other applications. (All possible patches installed for all possible products)



Open multiple applications, open couple of Microsoft Word 2003 instances, minimize them and maximize those couple of times, Microsoft Word will suddenly disappear.



No error reporting, no exceptions, nothing, just gone!



I understand that Microsoft is not getting automated error reports about it; I understand that this makes this issue then low priority; it is there since office was released, but what I don't understand is why no one at Microsoft is complaining about that yet?



Is Microsoft Word 2003 used in Microsoft? And if yes, do they do things done with it? is anyone will ever fix this problem?

This doesn't happen to everyone so this is one of those errors that
can not be reproduced and as you noted, without an error message they
can be the hardest bug to track down. Fortunately it started happening
to me and after a month or so I was able to find a resolution.

I'm still not sure why this occurs but I found it was caused by a bug
in the Handwriting Recognition services. Try the following:

- Open your Control Panel
- Open Regional and Language Settings (or Text Services for Windows
2000)
- Select the Language tab
- Click Details
- Remove Handwriting Recognition
