Microsoft Word 97 Help Needed

When I click on Microsoft Word 97, the installation box for the progra
WinMX (a music downloading software) pops up.

When I click on any other Microsoft program such as Powerpoint, Outloo
Express, Publisher or Excel I get the 'Missing Shortcut' browser menu
and it searches for the program.

I -think- that I may have deleted a key somehow through the syste
registry, other wise I don't know what I did. I dont think its
virus.

How can I get my programs back (especially Word), withOUT paying fo
them... I can't get in touch with anyone because I don't have a credi
card, and no one seems to have the same problem.

Not an expert, but I've found the MVP site valuable in fixing some
problems.

You sometimes have to be intuitive in that they may not list the *exact*
problem.
For ex. in your case I'd be looking under the "Problems opening Word"
and/or the "Re-Registering" sections.

You may want to try it while you wait for an expert to come along.
