Microsoft Word Crashes

I have Microsoft Word 2000 installed on my Windows 2000 computer an
everything works fine.
However there is another computer in the office. Both are connected vi
the network but if I shutdown the second computer then Word 200
crashes with a GPF error and does not work again until I turn on th
computer. In essense, word does not function without the secon
computer being active and connected to the network?
I have tried uninstalling office 2000 and re-installing whilst no
connected to the network and the problem persists. Does anybody hav
any idea how I can get around this?

Are you using a printer that is maybe shared through the parallel port of
the other computer?
