microsoft word error message

when hitting the apostophy key '
tHIS IS A TEST 08:52:43 rEAL TIME
the above message occurs and also puts my keyboard into caps lock. How can I
rectiofy this situation immeditaley

In that case, it is most likely a macro doing that. If you dont know how to
check that, just respond again.

I have done this and the macro box is empty in all templates and documents.
There is nothing to remove. What exacly will I be looking for? The problem
still occurs.

I have checked this, but can not find an apostophe anywhere in the auto
correct options

If you are sure this ONLY happens in Word, try renaming "normal.dot" to
"normal.old" and then open Word.

Bob, this also happens in notepad after testing this. I tried doing what you
said below, but I could not change the box or wording to .old. The problem
still occures even typing in this forum example: it'

If it happens in Notepad, then it has nothing to do with Office, or
Word. It is from something you have installed (intentionally or
otherwise) in the operating system. I would suggest you start looking
for malware or trojans.

Do you have a programmable keyboard? If so, it may have been programmed
accidentally.

Providing that information, I really believe it is not word's fault. Please
check to see if you have any malware on your computer. I really also do think
it is a keyboard issue. I also need to ask if this problem occurs in Excel or
any other program on your computer.
