Microsoft Word has not been installed for the current user?

G

Gassan

Anyone encountered this before? When you try to run a MS
Office XP application it says "Microsoft Word (or whatever
program you're trying to run) has not been installed for
the current user. Please run setup to install the
application." I tried uninstalling/installing Office XP
again but to no avail. It can only be ran if you have
admin priveleges. Anyone has an idea?

I also tried giving a user admin priveleges, installing
Office XP, running it and then removing admin priveleges.
Right after I remove admin priveleges user is unable to
run any MS Office XP application.

I am facing the same problem .After I use the Program " Windows System
optimizer " (http://www.flyyasoft.com/download/wso.exe) to clean up the
redundant files, and start office xp, it says Microsoft Word (or whatever
Office program you're trying to run) has not been installed for the current
user.

I call the admin and they reinstall Office XP from one remote comp in the
LAN and everything works fine.

Didnt face the problem with office 2000.

OS : windows 2000 professional

Any help would be appreciated.
