Microsoft Word Minimizes on Opening

When I try to open a word document, word opens and then
minimizes to the bottom icon tray. It will not restore.
Is this a memory problem?

Right-click on the Taskbar button and see what commands are available. If
they include Maximize and Minimize but not Restore, then the document is
opening in a Normal window offscreen. Open any other window, right-click on
an empty area of the Taskbar, and choose Cascade. This should bring the Word
window back in view. Use the mouse to move and size it to your preference
(and set its new location), then quit Word. When you restart, the Word
window should be where you left it.
